Ontario in Spring 2007
Shawn and Al go in search of steelhead in the Ontario streams of Lake Superior the first week of May, 2007. Started carrying the camera on Mink Creek, which has some of the most scenic waterfalls around. Then we visit Angler Creek near Marathon, a fun descent into the canyon down the rock face. Then we have a classic Ontario experience when we decide to try walking down the trail into McKeller Creek to the railroad and then walk that to the DeadHorse, as we'd heard it was a shorter path. Shorter if you don't try to rock-hop the shore of Lake Superior because you think (wrongly) that you can see the mouth of the DeadHorse. No matter, cool rocks along the shore make it all worth the walk. We do make it to the DeadHorse and it's beach, and then walk back out on the railroad, having to run from a train once. Then evening and the next morning on the Steele, including Shawn taking a chrome hen to the lake (or the other way around).
